Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
Optical character recognition is the process by which a computer "reads" the letters in an image. This allows the text in a document to be used to create a file that can be loaded into a database and searched, edited in a word processor, or otherwise processed on a computer. Results vary depending on the quality of the image and handwriting recognition still has a way to go. Glacier recommends this process as a back up rather than a replacement, to standard coding.
Pre-Coding Hot Key, Doc Type & Folder level indexing during Image Capture
Through the use of bar code recognition technology and customized document forms Glacier has the ability to pre-code fields such as document types or dates, and create an index of folder or document titles at scan time.

Bates Labeling
Glacier can label your original documents with a bates label or unique access number. We can label images electronically at scan time, or as part of a post-production process to endorse and imbed numbers in existing images.
